First Things First

Frank Covey, a well known leadership expert, says in his book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, “seek first to understand and then to be understood.”

I liken this to what we should also do when it comes to our kingdom objectives in relating to others.  First seek to hear from God (faith comes by hearing), which then enables us to hear and understand the heart and needs of others so we are able to effectively connect with and draw them to Jesus. Remember it’s not about our agenda for other people (which Tiegreen says is often misguided) but about Christ’s.

If we can relax our judgments, remove ourselves from the center of focus and trust God to ultimately get souls to where they need to be, only then can we really fulfill the gospel mission of winning souls for the kingdom.

And while we may be used to plant (seeds of faith), we must leave it to God for how (and whom) He chooses to water and prune.

Love You All to Life!!
