Praise—My Strong Defense

(Excerpts from Underneath the Surface by Nina Jones)

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We all struggle with sadness at times which if goes unchecked can lead to depression and hopelessness. And what’s puzzling is that oftentimes we cannot put our hands on what’s causing these feelings. And if we’re not careful we will begin to spiral and start isolating and telling ourselves that no one cares, or worse blaming others for how we feel.

“If you’re struggling with depression, know that God sees you and wants to meet you in your pain. He doesn’t condemn you for feeling low. He’s ready to meet you there, sustain you, and give you hope to keep going.”

“What would it look like for you to let God meet you in your struggles instead of trying to push through on your own?”

Prayer: God help me to day and night give You praise. Praise is a strong defense against the enemy’s attacks. Help me to hold firm to Your word which reminds me that You will never leave or forsake me. May my hope be firmly anchored in You, God!!

Love You All to Life! ❤️
