Are You All In?

(Inspired by Take Up Your Cross devotional by Carlos Santiago)

“If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Most of us, if we’re honest, want just enough Jesus to get the benefits, but not so much that we feel the cost. Yet, is it really possible to get one without the other?”

You’ve heard me say before that anything worth pursuing will require sacrifice, adjustment, and likely some pain. Some of the greatest blessings have been borne out of discomfort—think about that for a moment. 🤔

While we may not want to hear it, we actually grow through pain and struggle and I dare say have a greater appreciation for the outcome than if it were to have come easy.

Being “All In” means you’re ready to go through whatever is necessary to win the prize; that you are ready to go through the fire and the flood, that no cost is too great. Recall our heroes of faith (Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, Rahab…the list goes on) and more importantly Jesus who made the ultimate sacrifice for our sakes.

Jesus’ flesh was challenged but He was “All In”. The Bible is clear that we will suffer hardships along this journey but Jesus promises we will have a more abundant life if we stay the course and follow Him.

Are you “All In” with the pleasant and unpleasant, times of plenty and struggle, sunshine and rain, benefits and costs, when God says Yes and No?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to be “ALL In” when it comes to my relationship with You. Instead of worrying and fretting about my past, present, future or the outcome, give me the courage to accept the bitter with the sweet, be content no matter the circumstances and make lemonade out of life’s lemons as I stay the course and give You praise in All things. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Love You All to Life! ❤️
