Free Your Mind
(Adapted from Trusting God’s Plan in the Waiting devotional)
Guilt and fear create a false narrative that poisons your perspective. So be careful what you allow to creep into your spirit.
When we are waiting, how often do we create a scenario in our minds that simply isn’t true because we don’t have all the facts? Is it our way of trying to maintain control? These fear-based what-ifs can really steal our joy.
I certainly have created many stories that I believed to be real. These false narratives only serve to cause me anguish which then result in foolish decisions based on those untruths.
But God is a mind regulator and has promised to give us peace when everything is in turmoil—real or perceived. The Bible reminds us,
“The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalms 27:1 NLT
Prayer: Lord, help me to settle down, refuse to be anxious and trust you to speak the Word over my circumstances and situations instead of giving in to the fear and torment. Thank you Jesus for your peace which guards my heart and mind!
Love You All to Life!
