Your Attitude of Gratitude Raises Your Altitude
(Excerpts from Grow Through It: 7 Healing Practices That Cultivate Resilience by Essie Faye)

“But [as for me], I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I shall pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is from the Lord!”

‭‭Jonah‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! [Ps 37:4]”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits;”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬ -2 NKJV‬‬

Gratitude can lead to better physical health and sleep quality. It can strengthen personal relationships and create a positive and productive work environment. Gratitude can lead to increased mental strength and contentment and improve our ability to deal with adversity. Gratitude can help people maintain a hopeful and optimistic attitude.

While practicing gratitude can propel us to grow emotionally and mentally, lacking gratitude in our lives can stunt our growth and keep us feeling stuck.

Perspective is key in most life experiences because whatever you give attention to will grow. If we are ungrateful, our [stinky] thinking and negativity will grow. This may lead to bouts with depression and feelings of stagnation or even fear. Practicing gratitude produces feelings of happiness and gratefulness.

Ever wonder why the more we fixate on the negative—the more we give into it and add our own story to it (you know those stories and commentary we so easily add to try and make sense of what’s going on)—the more it grows and produces feelings of overwhelm? 🤔

Let us practice gratitude daily.

Ungratefulness inhibits growth, but gratitude accelerates growth.

Prayer: Lord help me to get out of my own way by refusing to allow my circumstances to color my gratefulness and instead, elevate my perspective and actively express my love and appreciation in all things. Thank You for reminding me that my attitude of gratitude raises my altitude!

Love You All to Life! ❤️
