Obedience must include sincerity. Otherwise, it doesn’t come close to the character of God – Chris Tiegreen

We’ve all heard the saying, “Fake it until you make it.”  And while that may be an accepted way of dealing in the world, it does not work—it is not the currency of God. God knows our heart and that it is often far from Him. Yes, He honors obedience, but obedience just for its own sake is of no value. It must be anchored by integrity, truthfulness, and sincerity.

The Bible provides this reminder:

“This is our [reason for] proud confidence: our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [in general], and especially toward you, with pure motives and godly sincerity, not in human wisdom, but in the grace of God [that is, His gracious lovingkindness that leads people to Christ and spiritual maturity].”  2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭AMP‬‬
