Leave the BUTs Behind
“The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” Psalms 121:7-8 NLT
My friends, I’ve said it before and it’s worth repeating—Your “up-look”determines your “outlook”. No matter what you’re going through or what you have to face, Jesus will see you through it. Now, I’m sure some of you may be saying to yourselves, “Yeah I know that, BUT…” Go ahead and fill in the blanks, “but you don’t know my situation”, “but God won’t forgive me this time”, “but I can’t see how.”
I encourage you to drop the BUT part because it leaves room for the enemy to slide in and challenge what you know about God’s character. So, the next time you’re tempted to offer the BUT excuses, recount instead God’s exceedingly great and precious promises (2 Peter 4:2) and leave the BUTs behind.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, as I enter a new year filled with possibilities and unimaginable opportunities, may I first and always look toward heaven for help in every circumstance. For as long as my eyes are fixed on You, I will experience an inner peace that has the power to transform “what”and “how” I see things. And so much so that I not only leave the BUTs behind, but refuse to recall them to mind by looking in the rear view mirror.
Love You to Life!
