Guilt and Shame

(Excerpts and inspiration from Mike Paalz’s, Keeping God At Arm’s Length devotional)

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”  1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Among the many behaviors with which we keep God at arm’s length, there is an underlying thread of guilt…we must be careful not to allow guilt over who we were before Christ to stifle God’s good work in us now.”

“It is only in acknowledging who and what we really are that God can begin to work a change in us. Hanging onto guilt is to refuse God’s grace and, by extension, His salvation.”

Prayer: God help me to fully accept your work of redemption and salvation at Calvary’s cross. I thank You for Your grace and mercy which abounds toward me. When I am tempted to pull away due to guilt and shame, let me recall to mind Your faithfulness and refuse to allow Satan a foothold in my relationship with You.

Love You All to Life! ❤️
