Steadfast and Immovable
(Excerpts and inspiration from “The Wonder of the Wilderness” by Christin Jayakaran)
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV
“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” Proverbs 4:26 NIV
“For many of us, the wilderness will suck the joy out of all the work that we do or long to do. We will begin to feel that there is no point to doing anything because nothing will come of it. It’s important that you identify the lie in that feeling. Even in the wilderness, your life has purpose. You will still leave a mark on people’s lives, provided your hands are busy with what you are given to do.”
“Don’t discount the blessing you can be to others, even if your blessing hasn’t arrived yet. Allow yourself to rest, but work when you must. The kingdom of God depends on your commitment to keep showing up and serving as only you can.”
“Joseph’s professional excellence and his work ethic made him stand out in a crowd of slaves. You can experience the same favour and blessing even in the depths of your wilderness because God sees every sacrifice you make and knows the price you pay to do what you do.”
Friends, don’t allow the enemy to cause you to pull back, or stop what you’re doing for the kingdom because things don’t seem to be going well for you. You are God’s handiwork and He has a purpose for your life that the enemy is trying to thwart. Stay the course because God sees and cares.
I am reminded of a song by Hezekiah Walker featuring Kim Burrell entitled “The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow”. Let these words be a reminder that even in the wilderness, God is with you.
This tedious journey may not be easy
You did not say it would be
Sometimes I get so lonely and disheartened
And I just don’t want to be bothered
Then I began to think Lord what I have done
To make this race so hard for me to run
Then I say to my soul, soul take courage
The Lord will make a way somehow
Somehow…somehow…somehow…somehow…Somehow!
Prayer: Lord, help me to stay the course throughout this journey with You, determined to remain steadfast, immovable, and with all knowledge that this race is not given to the swift or strong, but to him who endures to the end!
Love You All to Life! ❤️
