Love, the Distinguishing Factor

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” – John 13:35 NKJV

We cannot honestly say that we love God (who we cannot see) if we show no love, care, and concern for our neighbors (community, family, friends, acquaintances, strangers) who we can see.  It is our neighbors that we have the ability to positively impact through sharing and demonstrating the love of God in ways meaningful to them.

What does it profit us if we spend endless hours reading and studying the Word of God without putting our love to the ultimate test—sharing His love through how we serve and treat others, especially the “unlovely ones”?  Let’s face it, it’s easy to love “lovely” people. Am I right about it? 😉

So, the next time you contemplate (or inwardly give yourself credit for) how much you “love God”, look at the effort you spend offering the things that matter most (your time, talent, and treasure), including how you serve others. The Bible admonishes, “Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]. Be hospitable to one another without complaint.”

1 Peter‬ ‭4:8-9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

So, let’s keep the love going and make God proud to say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

Love You All to Life!!
