Peace On Purpose

“A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath, but harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger.”  Proverbs‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭

The Bible instructs “If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone”. Romans‬ ‭12:18 AMP‬‬. This doesn’t mean we will never have conflicts but how we handle them make all the difference—in God’s eyes and those watching us. As living epistles read of men, our actions or reactions can cause greater harm by tarnishing our character as children of God—something that may take a lifetime from which to recover.

And don’t be fooled, it’s not all about us. The enemy of our souls uses conflict to distract from God’s glory which should be brightly shining through our lives. While in the moment of conflict we may feel the need to protect and defend our dignity, reputation, perspectives and opinions, only what God says and thinks about us has eternal significance.

So, the next time you’re faced with conflict hold your peace and refuse to give way to your “righteous indignation”.  Instead, respond with grace—for in so doing you make God smile and maintain your dignity and power.

Love You All to Life!!
