Be Over It

(Excerpts and inspiration from Be Still devotional writing by Sarah Shanahan)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”  Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT

“Overthinking traps us in fear and anxiety. It causes us to rely on self rather than putting our trust in God. “

Have you ever had a crucial decision to make, a presentation to do (you fill in the blanks) and you got so trapped in making it perfect and avoiding all mistakes that you left no room for God to put His hand on it, or your ears were closed to what God had to say about it?

I’ve been there many times only to find that I missed the mark. And all because I was too afraid of making a mistake. Or let’s be real, trusting and relying too heavily on myself for the “right” answer.

For me it’s certainly been a journey and I’m learning to Be Still, stay open to His voice by not allowing my thoughts to drown out His, and instead move in Faith. God honors our process to seek His guidance! And He gives good gifts (has great rewards) to those who trust Him.

“When we start to overthink, that is when we need to turn to the Father. Ask Him for clarification and wisdom with whatever situation you are going through.”

And here’s the important part: “Rest in the peace that He is with you”, and will never leave or turn His back on you.

Prayer: God help me to trust You implicitly. Help me to drown out the noise in my own head and move in faith, trusting that You will steer and reroute as required to achieve Your will. I know You love me and honor the process I employ, over the perfect, trouble-free outcome I desire.

I Can Because He Is! ❤️
