It’s All Good!
(Excerpts and inspiration from Underneath the Surface by Nina Jones)

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yes, it’s human nature. “We see someone else’s success – their relationships, their talents, the things we wish we had ourselves – and suddenly our own life feels lacking. It’s exhausting to live in comparison, and it keeps us from appreciating what God has given us.”

Someone once told me to be careful when looking at another’s yard—their lives, possessions, achievements…you fill in the blank—because we don’t know what struggles lie behind them. Possibly struggles we would rather pass on or are not equipped to handle. 🤔

“God offers us a better way by finding contentment in Him and His plans and purpose for our lives…freeing us to celebrate others instead of resenting them.”

Now that’s a mouthful! 😮 The key is finding contentment in what God has provided for you, understanding that He knows what’s best, and gives good gifts to His children. While we may not always recognize and appreciate His goodness that doesn’t lessen how good He is.

Prayer: God help me to resist the temptation to look on the things of others (in secret and sometimes outward envy), but rather trust in Your provision for my life. Help me to realize the danger of wasting negative energy in unfruitful comparisons, which only lead to strife and bitterness. Help me instead to always maintain an attitude of gratitude.

Love You All to Life! ❤️
