Out of the Darkness Comes…
(Inspired by Trusting God’s Plan in the Waiting devotional)
God grows us while we’re yet in dark places—like a seed underground that is nourished and flourishes until it is ready to be exposed in the light. It is a place that causes us to lean fully on Him, free from the distractions of life and full of His protection. A place that breaks us for His glory but does not utterly destroy us. A place that sharpens and prepares us for the assignment ahead.
So when you’re in those dark places, where you think God has forgotten about you and cast you aside, know that it is just the opposite. Recall to mind His faithfulness which restores your hope.
- “Don’t throw away your confident trust in the Lord but remember the great reward it brings you. Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. (Hebrews 10:36 NLT)
- “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”(Philippians 1:6 NKJV)
